Disclaimer:

Living Publishing is a sovereign, single-device, full-stack publishing architecture in which an independent creator manages the entire process—from writing and production to global distribution—while treating the work like software—iterating continuously and keeping it alive.
It is NOT to be confused with institutional “Dynamic Publishing,” multi-channel distribution, collaborative editing systems, or layout-production technologies, and does not rely on multi-author or organizational workflows.
The core principle, concept, and methodology of Living Publishing constitute an original intellectual framework proposed by the author, H.L. Phoenix, and has been successfully practiced for eight years. It remains entirely independent of any third-party organizations or agencies.

My Full-stack Single-Device Living Publishing System — Method Statement

—— Treat the work like software: iterate continuously and keep it alive.

My Full-stack Single-device Living Publishing System is a source-centric publishing architecture that minimizes process, formatting, data weight, and system dependencies to achieve stable, portable, and maintainable digital books.

Writing, editing, design, conversion, distribution, and maintenance are performed on a single device within a single source document. All adjustments are made at the source. The output file is treated as a terminal product and is never manually altered.

In short, Source-only changes, no post-output edits; minimal configuration, deploy light.

Whether single-device or full-stack, these are methods. The ultimate aim is living publishing: treat books like software—evolving and keeping pace with their time as works of the mind. This is my publishing thought and guiding principle; it may also be called my publishing philosophy.

The System operates under four constraints:

  1. Single Source Control
One source document serves all platforms. Maintenance occurs only at the origin.

  2. Structural Minimalism
A limited set of paragraph styles governs the entire text. No local formatting is retained.

  3. Asset Normalization
All images are preprocessed to the smallest size that preserves necessary clarity.

  4. System Decoupling
Output files embed neither covers nor fonts. Display responsibility is delegated to the reader’s reading system.

These constraints reduce publishing and updating load, parsing overhead, file size, and system coupling, resulting in long-term maintainability, instant opening, rapid distribution, and cross-platform stability.
