Virat Kohli was seen having an animated chat with the fourth umpire as the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) camp expressed displeasure over skipper Rajat Patidar’s controversial dismissal. The incident took place in the eighth over of RCB’s ongoing IPL 2026 clash with Gujarat Titans (GT) at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Thursday.

Patidar got a top edge while attempting the pull shot off left-arm pacer Arshad Khan’s short ball. Jason Holder and Kagiso Rabada were converging under the ball in the deep.

Despite the distraction, Holder did well to pluck out a fine diving catch. However, the all-rounder appeared to have grassed the ball while sliding, as per the replays. The umpires adjudged it out, leading to Kohli engaging in a heated chat with the fourth umpire outside the boundary ropes. RCB head coach Andy Flower also questioned the official, but the decision was upheld.
