Concert Performance

“Hey, B, did you come last night? You must have been there, right?”

“What?”

“Don’t play dumb. My concert! I prepared for so long, everyone showed up—don’t tell me you skipped it.”

“Oh, that. Yeah, of course I went.”

“Ha! I knew it! You’re such a good friend! By the way, what did you think? Were you blown away? I practiced so hard!“

”Well, your singing style is truly one-of-a-kind. This kind of approach is extremely rare—it will stand out anywhere.“

”Right? Right? Innovation is my specialty! What's the point of following the same old tropes all the time? B, you were there too—you must've noticed how enthusiastic the crowd was, huh? Hmph, they finally got to see my talent.“

“Yeah, your parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, brothers and sisters— and me all applauded.”

“Of course they did! Though the stage lights made it hard to see the crowd, I heard every clap loud and clear! Just got interrupted by that annoying neighbor later. So irritating.”

“Guess not everyone appreciates the Rainbow Party Sound System.”

“Tsk. It's precisely because of people like that, art can't progress... Who cares? I won't let this little setback stop me... Hey, B, what do you think of the graduation ceremony?”

“Uh, what?”

"B, here you go again. Don't play dumb. Why do you think I scheduled the concert early? It's because I considered that I would be performing at the graduation ceremony. If I only performed at the ceremony, everybody who couldn't attend would be so poor, wouldn't they? It's an artist's duty to let more people appreciate their talent—who said that ?... I forgot."

“You're going to sing on stage?”

“Yeah, just like last night. No big deal. Though I'll have to pick from those boring songs... But it's fine. When I sing, even stones turn to gold—isn't that how the saying goes?”

“...You're really going to sing in front of the entire school—thousands of people?”

“Of course! It's the perfect chance to showcase my true worth. Why are you always so slow to catch on?”

“Sorry, I didn't realize you had such courage. It took me a moment to process.”

“As the saying goes, the early bird catches the worm. If I want to conquer the music world in the future, I can't let any opportunity slip by!”

“Indeed, that's indeed true.”

“Alright, alright, it's settled then. B, you absolutely have to come this time, otherwise... Oh, right, it's the graduation ceremony—you cannot not come. Ah, it's getting late. I gotta go now, still need to practice. Bye!”
