Presumption of innocence matters because it limits power.
Without it, the state doesn’t have to justify intrusion. You do.
Surveillance presumes everyone is suspicious.

Privacy preserves innocence by default.
There's a reason we say "innocent until proven guilty."

When suspicion is the default, privacy disappears and power becomes unchecked. Presumption of innocence protects us by forcing accountability before intrusion. Without it, we’re all treated like suspects.
