Growth in Magia Exedra is divided into two primary paths, ensuring that both your gear and your characters are constantly evolving. First, we have Memory Crystals. These function similarly to equipment cards in other high-end RPGs. They provide the bulk of your raw stats and can be enhanced through level upgrades, Magic Awakening, and Limit Breaks. Upgrading your Memory Crystals is the fastest way to increase your team's overall power level, making them essential for clearing the more difficult Barriers.

The second, and perhaps more interesting, system is the Heart Vessel (Soul Gem) mechanic. This focuses specifically on the magical girl's personal growth. As you level up a character's Heart Vessel, you don't just get stat bonuses; you also unlock exclusive content. This includes new voice lines, high-definition character art, and deep backstory chapters. It is a system designed to make you feel a closer bond with your team.

The interplay between these two systems means that even low-rarity characters can become viable if you invest in their Heart Vessels and pair them with high-tier Memory Crystals. Additionally, the Support Character system allows you to bring along a friend's magical girl, providing extra attribute bonuses. This flexibility is key for clearing stages where your main team might be at an elemental disadvantage.
