Chennai Super Kings (CSK) opener Sanju Samson starred with the bat in the IPL 2026 match against Mumbai Indians (MI) at Wankhede Stadium on Thursday, April 23. The wicketkeeper-batter smashed a boundary off debutant Krish Bhagat off the last delivery to reach his 54-ball century. During his innings, he smashed six maximums and 10 boundaries.
Samson achieved the ton as Bhagat bowled a short delivery on middle and leg. The right-hander picked the delivery early and pulled it towards deep square leg. The ball hit the boundary cushion on the bounce and the batter took off his helmet to celebrate the milestone. The 31-year-old got a standing ovation from his CSK teammates while MI’s Indian players — skipper Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, and Hardik Pandya congratulated him on the milestone.
