Delhi Capitals (DC) star pacer Mitchell Starc had the last laugh against Rajasthan Royals (RR) opener Yashasvi Jaiswal in the IPL 2026 match at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Friday, May 1. The left-arm pacer dismissed Jaiswal immediately after being smashed for a first-ball six.

The dismissal came in the first over of RR’s innings. After Jaiswal welcomed Starc with a six on the first delivery, the speedster bowled a dot ball before following that up with a full-toss on middle. The left-hander was taken by surprise as he stayed inside the crease and swung it across the line, but only managed a top edge as the ball hit the top half of the bat and Starc settled underneath it to complete caught and bowled. It was the first instance when Starc dismissed Jaiswal after removing him thrice during the 2024–25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

With the wicket, Mitchell Starc made an immediate impact in his first-ever IPL 2026 appearance after recovering from an injury. The Delhi-based franchise had retained the Aussie pacer for ₹11.75 crore.
