The Full Gospel of Blood, Water, and the Holy Spirit

I. A Therapist's Testimony

For there are three that testify: the Spirit and the water and the blood; and these three agree. If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater, for this is the testimony of God that he has borne concerning his Son. (1 John 5:7-9, ESV)

Whoever believes in the Son of God has the testimony  (blood, water, and the Holy Spirit) in himself. Whoever does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has borne concerning his Son. (1 John 5:10, ESV)

On Monday, October 13, 2025, my therapist (a Baptist Christian) told me:

"I recently had a dream. In the dream, I was at the Mingde MRT station and saw a large sign for the Shipai Church with the words 'The Full Gospel of Blood, Water, and the Holy Spirit' written below. The Holy Spirit asked me, 'Do you know what this means?' I answered, 'It must refer to the cross.'" "Yes!" the Holy Spirit said, "That's right, but that's too general; others won't understand. You can ask Pastor Zeng Xuezheng and remind him to pray for his spiritual father."

II. The Passover Lamb, a Prefiguration of Christ (Yeshua)'s Salvation: Blood, Water, and Holy Spirit

1. The Festival is a Shadow, the substance is Christ(Yeshua)

Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath. These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ. (Colossians 2:16-17, ESV)

The Lord said to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, 2 “This month shall be for you the beginning of months. It shall be the first month of the year for you. 3 Tell all the congregation of Israel that on the tenth day of this month every man shall take a lamb according to their fathers' houses, a lamb for a household. (Exodus 12:1-3, ESV) God commanded the Israelites to designate the first month of each year (Abib, Nisan) when the barley ripened; if the barley did not ripen in that month, it would be done once a year in the twelfth month. The Jewish calendar is based on the moon, with only 354 days in a year, similar to the Chinese lunar calendar, which has one lunar cycle every three years and two every five years. The people were required to strictly adhere to God's ordained schedule for determining festivals, days, and years.

When Moses led the people out of Egypt, he designated that month as the first month of the year; on the tenth day of the first month, each person was to take a lamb from their father's household—one lamb without blemish—as the Passover lamb. This Passover lamb is merely a symbol; the true embodiment still refers to Christ (Yeshua), the slain lamb who sacrificed himself on the cross to save sinners, shedding his blood and giving his life to accomplish the Full Gospel of blood, water, and the Holy Spirit.

2. The Lamb Slaughtered at Dusk on the Fourteenth

and you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of this month, when the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill their lambs at twilight. (Exodus 12:6, ESV)

Moses instructed the Israelites, saying:

"At twilight on the fourteenth, slaughter the lamb, and each household shall take some of its blood and put it on the doorposts and lintels of the house on which it will eat it (the testimony of the blood). That night you shall eat the lamb's flesh (the testimony of the water), roast it on the fire (the testimony of the Holy Spirit), and eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. And you shall let none of it remain until the morning; anything that remains until the morning you shall burn. In this manner you shall eat it: with your belt fastened, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. And you shall eat it in haste. It is the Lord's Passover. (Exodus 12:6-11)

Moses, according to the Lord's word, said: The blood shall be a sign for you, on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and no plague will befall you to destroy you, when I strike the land of Egypt.

 (Exodus 12:13, ESV)

3. The Lord's Night: God's People in Egypt Deliver from Pharaoh's (the devil's) Domination

It was a night of watching by the Lord, to bring them out of the land of Egypt; so this same night is a night of watching kept to the Lord by all the people of Israel throughout their generations. (Exodus 12:42, ESV) At midnight, the Lord killed all the firstborn sons of Egypt—from Pharaoh, who sat on the throne, to the firstborn sons of those in captivity and in prison, and all the firstborn livestock. There was great wailing in Egypt; in every house, someone died.

Pharaoh urgently summoned Moses and Aaron, saying, "Arise! Go out from my people, you and the Israelites, and serve the Lord, as you have said!" The Israelites lived in Egypt for four hundred and thirty years. On the day that the 430th year had passed, Moses led the people out of Pharaoh's (the devil's) domination and out of Egypt, the land of slavery. The people became the army of the Lord and marched in great numbers toward the Promised Land.

III. Passover in the Time of Jesus (Yeshua)

1. Jesus (Yeshua) Enters Jerusalem on a Donkey on the Tenth of the First Month

And you shall offer the Passover sacrifice to the Lord your God, from the flock or the herd, at the place that the Lord will choose, to make his name dwell there. (Deuteronomy 16:2, ESV)

Tell all the congregation of Israel that on the tenth day of this month every man shall take a lamb according to their fathers' houses, a lamb for a household…. Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male a year old. You may take it from the sheep or from the goats, (Exodus 12:3, 5, ESV) In the Jewish custom of Jesus (Yeshua)' time, on the tenth of the first month, ten to twenty people would offer a lamb, which would be carefully examined in the Temple to ensure it was without blemish. On this day, Jesus (Yeshua) rode into Jerusalem on a donkey, and was rigorously examined by the Pharisees, who found no fault to accuse him of. Therefore, Jesus (Yeshua)' Passover lamb was perfect, without blemish or wrinkle. When Jesus (Yeshua) entered the city, they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying out, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!”  And Jesus (Yeshua) found a young donkey and sat on it, just as it is written,

 “Fear not, daughter of Zion;

behold, your king is coming,

sitting on a donkey's colt!” (John 12:13-15, ESV)

2. The Slaughter of the Lamb on the Fourteenth Day

In the time of Jesus (Yeshua) (the Second Temple period), the Passover lamb was slaughtered and sacrificed in the Temple in Jerusalem. At that time, all Israel, following Moses' words, celebrated Passover annually, bringing a lamb without blemish to the Temple, where the priests sprinkled its blood on the altar, and the fat was burned on the altar.

The Jews believed that slaughtering the lamb in the Temple on the evening of the fourteenth day of the first month was in accordance with the law. At nine o'clock in the morning on the fourteenth (when the Lord was nailed to the cross), the priests sharpened their knives to prepare to slaughter a suitable lamb. At dusk, around three o'clock in the afternoon (when the Lord breathed his last on the cross), the priests slaughtered the lamb, sprinkled its blood on the altar, skinned it, and offered its fat.

Finally, after the sacrifice in the temple, each family took the lamb home, roasted it over a fire, and shared it at the Passover feast.

3. The Lord Jesus (Yeshua) is the Passover Lamb, who sacrificed himself to accomplish the salvation of blood, water, and the Holy Spirit.

Cleanse out the old leaven that you may be a new lump, as you really are unleavened. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. (1 Corinthians 5:7, ESV) The ram lamb that the Israelites ate each evening during Passover was merely a prefiguration of the slain lamb, Christ. The Lord Jesus (Yeshua) is the true Passover Lamb, who sacrificed himself to atone for the sins of all humanity, accomplishing the complete salvation of blood, water, and the Holy Spirit on the cross.

The timing of Jesus (Yeshua)' sacrifice—crucified at 9:00 AM and dying on the cross at 3:00 PM—perfectly matches the Passover lamb's slaughter. At 9:00 AM, the priests sharpened their knives to prepare the lamb for slaughter; at 3:00 PM, the lamb was killed (the moment of Jesus (Yeshua)' death).

IV. Jesus (Yeshua) instituted the Lord's Supper, establishing a new covenant with us through His blood. On the night of His betrayal, Jesus (Yeshua) instituted the Lord's Supper (bread and cup), which is the blood, water, and the Holy Spirit. He established a new covenant with all humanity through His own blood.

1. The night Jesus (Yeshua) was betrayed was the day before Passover (Preparation Day).

Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus (Yeshua) knew that his hour had come to depart out of this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end. During supper, when the devil had already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him, (John 13:1-2, ESV) The Last Supper of Jesus (Yeshua) and his disciples took place on the 13th day of the first month of Abib, after sunset, the day before Passover. It was on this day, during Jesus (Yeshua)' supper with his disciples, that the devil had already put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, that he would betray him.

2. The Lord Initiates Holy Communion (Blood, Water, and the Holy Spirit)

While they were eating, Jesus (Yeshua)

"Take bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, 'Take and eat; this is my body.' (The bread represents the truth—the water is a testimony; eating bread baked with fire represents the Holy Spirit.) Now as they were eating, Jesus (Yeshua) took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.” And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you I will not drink again of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.” (Matthew 26:26-29, ESV) The Lord initiating Holy Communion was at the cost of His life; with His own blood, He established a new covenant with us. This is not an ordinary contract, but a marriage covenant between Christ and the Church, an unbreakable alliance, a promise to drink a new cup with us in the Father's kingdom!

3. The Lord Establishes the Marriage Covenant

The Lord Jesus (Yeshua) and his disciples celebrated Passover in the Upper Room; this upper room was provided for the Lord by Mary, Mark's mother. The Lord's Last Supper took place here; the Lord spent forty days with his disciples after his resurrection here; and the Holy Spirit descended on Pentecost, and 120 people prayed together here.

On the night of Passover, God's Son, Jesus (Yeshua) Christ, established the New Covenant in the Upper Room—the marriage covenant between Christ and the Church. The following are customs of a Jewish wedding ceremony, helping us understand that the Lord established the marriage covenant: Generally, Jewish custom dictates that the father takes his son to the bride's home to "propose marriage." The bride's family knows the date of the proposal beforehand. If the bride's family is willing to discuss the matter, they open the door and let the man in to eat together. After the meal, the father takes a cup of wine and gives it to his son; if the son agrees to the marriage, he drinks the wine and then "passes it to the bride." If the bride's family also agrees, she takes the cup and drinks the rest of the wine.

The engagement covenant is formed when both parties drink from the same cup. Is this not just like the Last Supper at Passover, where Jesus (Yeshua) took the cup, gave thanks, and said, “This is the blood of the covenant,” and drank it; and the disciples took the cup from the Lord, drank the remaining wine of the covenant, and thus completed the marriage covenant between the two parties.
