Jesus (Yeshua) is the Son of God

1. Jesus (Yeshua) is the Son of God – the core declaration of the Gospels. The Gospel authors explicitly made "Jesus (Yeshua) is the Son of God" a core theme:

⑴ John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

⑵ Mark 1:1: The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

⑶ John 20:31: but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

2. Distinguishing by the wording in the Gospel of John:

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16, ESV) Jesus (Yeshua) is the Son of God. The author of the Gospel of John is very particular about his wording. "God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son"; here, the term "only Son" means the one and only one, not one of many sons. In John 1:12, another wording says, “But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,” Here, believers becoming children of God means "children" (techno). Throughout the Gospels, John refers to Jesus (Yeshua) as the Son of God (Wills); the author John reserves the title "Wills" exclusively for Jesus (Yeshua).

Now do you see the distinction? Jesus (Yeshua) is the Son (Wills), and believers are children (techno). The uniqueness of Jesus (Yeshua) being the Son of God (Wills) is related to eternity and is entirely different from our relationship with God. Jesus (Yeshua) Christ, the Son of God, has been with the Father in eternity.

The Triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—has existed together from the beginning, sharing the same honor, glory, power, and eternity; they are one true God.

3. Discovering Jesus (Yeshua)' uniqueness through the description in Hebrews:

(1) Hebrews 1:5 says, For to which of the angels did God ever say,

“You are my Son,

    today I have begotten you”?

Or again,

“I will be to him a father,

    and he shall be to me a son”?

 What does this mean? Although angels are called the sons of God, God has never said to any single angel, "You are my Son, today I have begotten you."

"Today" refers to from eternity, from the beginning of time, before the world existed. Scripture says, “The Lord possessed me at the beginning of his work,

    the first of his acts of old. (Proverbs 8:22, ESV)

(2) Hebrews 1:6 goes even further. Furthermore, when God sent his firstborn Son into the world, He commanded His angels to worship Him. Angels are created beings, and God commanded them to worship Jesus (Yeshua), proving that Jesus (Yeshua) was not a created being; if created beings worship created beings, that is idolatry, which is strictly forbidden. (3) Hebrews 1:8 is even more direct, stating, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, See? God the Father directly refers to Jesus (Yeshua) as God.

This passage quotes from the Psalms:

Your throne, O God, is forever and ever.

    The scepter of your kingdom is a scepter of uprightness;

     you have loved righteousness and hated wickedness.

Therefore God, your God, has anointed you

    with the oil of gladness beyond your companions;

(Psalm 45:6-7, ESV)

(4) Hebrews 1:14, Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?

What is the essence of angels? They are ministering spirits, servants, sent to work. And what is Jesus (Yeshua)? He sits on the throne, receives worship, and is called God.

Hebrews 3:5-6 says, Now Moses was faithful in all God's house as a servant, to testify to the things that were to be spoken later, but Christ is faithful over God's house as a son. And we are his house, if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope.
