The teacher taught us that the Indian way is to cross your arms, pinch your earlobes with your thumb and index finger, bend over and bow, and then start laughing like crazy. The Western version is even more direct: spread your arms out as if saying sorry, and then burst into laughter. The first time I did it, I almost laughed until I got a cramp.
